All That Glitters

All That Glitters

Romantic Fiction

Jade had dreamed of being a wealthy wife one day and she had done whatever she had to do to make that dream come true.  Jade had married one of the wealthiest, most famous physicians in the world.  She had a house that could be described as nothing less than a mansion, and an endless supply of money to buy all the designer clothes that she desired.  Jade’s best friend, Sandi, had married just as well as she, and the two of them had always done everything together, and being married didn’t end their fun.  It was only a matter of time, however, until the two young brides would find more trouble than they had bargained for.

The view from the balcony window was breathtaking.  As a young girl, Jade had often driven through this most prestigious area of the city known as Trappe Hill and wondered what it would be like to live there.  The houses were beautiful.  They had all been built in the 1920s when lavish parties were commonplace among the well-to-do.  Jade’s home was definitely one-of-a-kind.  The third floor of Jade’s house had been an actual ballroom when it was originally built, and Jade stood looking at the huge room, imagining how it would have felt to have been whirled and twirled around this big ballroom.  As a little girl, Jade had often pretended to be rich and married to a doctor or a businessman.  She and her girlfriends would dress up in their mothers’ best dresses and high heels, paint their faces with much too much makeup, and then strut around their tiny houses and daydream.  “Well, I’m not dreaming any longer,” Jade said smugly, as she twirled around the soon-to-be library.

A slow song was beginning to play, and Sandi and Jade knew they shouldn’t dance with these guys they didn’t know, but they had finished their beers and were feeling quite good.  The two men held out their arms.  “May I hold a beautiful lady?” one of the men asked Sandi.  “Sandi, no,” Jade said.  “It’s just a dance,” Sandi protested.  She went to the man and held him tighter than even she had thought she would.  “Well, let’s not let them have all the fun,” the other man said to Jade.  Jade reluctantly went to the man and let him hold her while they danced.  Jade enjoyed the man’s strong arms around her.  He smelled like some kind of woodsy cologne, and Jade liked it.  He smelled manly, and his arms around her felt manly, too.

“Looks like it’s just you and me,” Joshua said to Jade.  He motioned to the sofa, and Jade sat down next to him.  Joshua set their beers down, and then he kissed Jade, holding her mouth open as he unbuttoned her silky blouse.  “Mmm, is this silk?”

Jade tried to nod, but it wasn’t easy to do with Joshua’s tongue inside her mouth.  His warm hand on her breasts felt good and Jade felt her nipples respond to the touch of this man.  He stopped kissing her and looked at her young face.  “You’re not pulling my hand away.  Does that mean you want to go further?”
